The Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia is an award-winning history museum and popular tourist-attraction located in old town Nicosia. This excellent museum chronologically illustrates the history of Cyprus and Nicosia from the Chalcolithic period, or Copper Age (3500-2500 BC), through the ancient and medieval periods, to the end of British rule in 1960. With free admission, I highly recommend it for a tactile introduction to Cypriot history and culture, through its many diverse collections.
